Job Summary

The Director is responsible for the Medical Laboratory Technology program which grants degrees. The Director will lead, supervise, manage, and implement all aspects of the program, including classroom and online course development and instruction, curriculum development, marketing, recruitment and advising of students, budgeting, and faculty supervision and support, and revision/modification of all program components as needed. Position includes teaching responsibilities, including clinical practicum and capstone courses. The Program Director holds a 12-month faculty position with release time each term based on the size of the program, as determined by the Dean and VPAA. Job Duties:
Teach 38-42 TLE per year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned with both teaching and approved release time included in this expectation. Typically, program directors receive 3 TLE release time per term. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required. Develop curriculum; evaluate and review of credit and non-credit courses; develop online classes as needed. Evaluate and monitor progress to achieve goals and objectives (and those by any licensing, registering, or certifying agency as applicable); assist with affiliation and accreditation efforts. Recruit and advise students and support persistence/progression through graduation. Maintain office hours and availability to students. Complete required College trainings. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines. Interview, hire, supervise, and evaluate program faculty and ensure adequate staffing for the program courses. Establish annual program goals including curriculum development, implementation, and assessment. Lead and coordinate all accreditation activities and documentation for the program, including but not limited to staying current with requirements and completing self-studies, site visits, and annual reports. Market the program, recruit and advise students into the program and provide academic and career advisement for prospective and current students. Coordinate an advisory committee to support the program, hold annual or semi-annual meetings, and ensure documentation of all advisory committee activities. Monitor and analyze data pertinent to students’ successful academic performance and ensure completion of VSCC’s Academic Program Review for Medical Laboratory Technology program. Complete and coordinate program’s TBR Academic Audit. Manage online course delivery by ensuring all model courses are current. Manage textbooks including working with departmental committees during the review process, coordinating with publishers, negotiating purchase packages, and organizing demonstrations and training for electronic resources. Plan, conduct, and document regular departmental meetings. Oversee student complaint resolution by ensuring that student discipline and complaint policy and procedures are followed, meet with students and coordinate with the Dean and/or Student Services personnel in mediating resolution. Develop, promulgate, implement, and monitor policies and procedures related to program equipment and laboratories that are consistent with Vol State and TBR policy. Develop, monitor, and maintain department budgets. Maintain parts and supplies inventory, ordering parts and supplies and keeping related records. Recommend purchase of new equipment and submit appropriate purchase and/or TAF requests following Vol State and department procedures. Network with industry personnel to assist in promotion of the college and its programs and the securing of guest speakers and adjunct faculty. Maintain the program accreditation through the National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS); supervises and directs required reporting to state and national agencies. Oversee use of facilities and equipment for day, evening, and weekend classes offered by the Medical Laboratory Technology program. Act as liaison between students, sponsoring agencies, local medical community, and state level certifying/licensing agency as needed. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a clinical laboratory, including teaching experience acceptable to the Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board. Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (active standing). Holds ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist. Licensed or eligible for licensure in Tennessee. Has knowledge of education administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures. Has documented evidence of continuing education in technical and educational methodologies to provide adequate and appropriate training in the areas of curriculum design and teaching techniques for medical laboratory personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a hospital/clinical medical laboratory with supervisory or management experience. Minimum of three (3) years full or part-time equivalent collegiate-level teaching experience in an accredited Medical Laboratory program; extensive experience in clinical practice.

Position Summary:&nbsp;Do you have a passion for sharing your expertise, craft or hobby with others? Pellissippi State’s noncredit lifelong learning program offers personal enrichment classes for the community with a wide range of topics, including: fitness, languages, musical instruments, arts and crafts, wellness, history, and more. Class participants are community members ages 18+. Some of the many benefits of teaching a lifelong learning class include working with engaged and enthusiastic adult learners and flexible class scheduling.
Our noncredit class schedule is released twice a year: spring/summer and fall. Classes can be as short as 90 minutes or up to 12 hours in length. Instructors are expected to have a high level of expertise in the subject of their proposed class, and some experience in teaching or training others. While compensation can vary depending on the type of class being offered, noncredit instructors are generally paid starting at $40 per class hour or a flat fee per class, and work on a temporary, part-time contract.
Instructors are responsible for developing their class content with assistance from the Program Coordinator as needed, and teaching the class. The Workforce &amp; Community Development office with work with instructors to determine the best format, date and time of offering, and will set the registration fee for the class.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Multi-Campus Programs, the Coordinator of Distance Education and Digital Accessibility collaborates with the Dean of Teaching Excellence and Academic Resources to ensure consistent instructional design in online courses across academic disciplines and serves as the College’s lead on distance education-related committees. They implement theory and research processes and provide training specific to the design, development, and implementation of accessible learning and web published materials.
Job Duties
• Collaborate with the Dean of Teaching Excellence and Academic Resources to ensure consistent instructional design in online courses across academic disciplines.
• Implement theory and research processes to design, develop, and implement accessible learning materials and digital content that meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 levels A and AA and Section 508 Standards.
• Research, create, and maintain training for administrative staff, faculty, and support staff related to digital accessibility conformance standards.
• Train appropriate personnel college-wide in creating and remediating webpage content to conform to Section 508 Standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 levels A and AA and Section 508 Standards.
• Work collaboratively with faculty to transform instructional materials created for one format to another format i.e., adapt materials from face-to-face to e-learning. Design and revamp both new and established learning models as needed.
• Teach faculty to create accessible media to support learning (visual aids, infographics, interactive exercises, animation, job aids, etc.). Collaborate with the Center for Teaching and Learning team as appropriate to develop training materials to provide professional development opportunities for faculty.
• Train all new hires, to include administrative staff, faculty, and support staff, on current digital accessibility standards as well as in creating and maintaining digital content. Design instructional management systems as appropriate. Create educational podcasts, videos, and content as assigned.
• Guide new Internet and hybrid course proposals through the approval process, maintaining the Internet and hybrid course inventories and development manuals. Work with faculty and others to identify program-specific student learning outcomes to align content, activities, and assessments to the identified outcomes. Research new innovations in both learning design and education to provide professional development opportunities to faculty.
• Complete required annual processes to support the College’s participation in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). Track SACSCOC substantive change and compliance for alternative delivery and off-campus course offerings. Evaluate new eLearning materials.
• Work with all purchasing parties regarding procurement of resources (VPAT). Comply with TBR Guidelines to create and update the Accessible Instructional Materials and Technology (AIMT) database for Northeast State Community College.
• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Instructional Design, Educational Media, Educational Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution • Two years’ experience designing and developing technology-based instructional content across a broad range of disciplines; integrating graphic, text, and audio elements in multi-media learning materials • Two years’ experience developing accessible course-related materials for on-ground and online instruction that meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 levels A and AA and Section 508 Standards 
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Education, Communications, Instructional Design, Educational Media, Educational Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution • Two years’ experience in higher education • Conversational ability or fluency in a second language 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems • Ability to proofread, edit, and produce effective written materials and presentations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The role will be responsible for the following:
Under the supervision of the Department Head and/or Lead Faculty, Adjunct Instructors have as their chief duty the instruction of assigned classes, providing quality instruction for student learning and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom. Although classes are offered in a variety of formats (virtual, online, hybrid, on-ground), we are prioritizing applicants who are available to teach on ground during the day. Responsibilities for Adjunct Instructors include conducting classes using appropriate instructional practices, maintain records of attendance, evaluate student performance on assignments or lab activities, assign midterm grades, assign final grades, utilize faculty feedback, complete mandatory training as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Beyond teaching responsibilities, Adjunct Instructors are also obligated to comply and support college policies as set forth in the Strategic Plan, the College Catalog, the Adjunct Faculty Handbook, and the Employment Agreement.
