Job Summary/General Purpose:

Sprague is looking for a full-time seasonal Customer Service Representative to work from October through April. This role serves as the main point of contact for all customer requests related to customer service processes, including order taking, product delivery, pricing, terminal access, billing, credit, and other inquiries about products and services.

Our Customer Service Representatives act as the liaison between energy customers and Sprague support personnel, requiring the ability to quickly and effectively resolve issues and answer all inquiries. Additionally, this position monitors activities to identify recurring customer needs and works to improve processes. This position requires the ability to work overtime including some weekend and evening hours as well as select holidays.  

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as member of the Customer Service Team responsible for answering customer calls related to energy marketing and delivery
  • Reconcile basic issues and answer inquiries about products, services or order status, conduct research, and coordinate with other internal departments as necessary
  • Maintain customer account data and record and track customer inquiries within the appropriate system(s)
  • Maintain process documentation
  • Participate in projects and provide backup coverage as required
  • Participate in ongoing customer service training to ensure adequate systems expertise, expedient training of new personnel, and improvement of general skills

Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:

  • Two to three years customer service experience – call center experience is a plus
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with customer-centric databases
  • Flexibility to cover weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with both external and internal customers and team members
  • Ability to work well with others, organize workload, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to problem-solve and conduct research for customer inquiries as needed
  • Bilingual English-Spanish skills are a plus
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

The rate for this position is $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
