Job Summary
The Respiratory Technician I assists respiratory services staff in meeting patient care needs. The technician cleans equipment and prepares it for use by the next patient. The technician performs high level disinfection when required. The technician monitors oxygen tank storage locations to ensure that accreditation standards are met. The technician responds to clinician requests for equipment and supplies. The technician monitors the various respiratory therapy storage spaces to ensure they are kept clean and clutter free. They monitor the available supply of respiratory devices and support staff therapists in locating equipment of all types. The Respiratory Technician I may also be assigned to perform EKGs.
The Respiratory Technician I must be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited respiratory therapy program.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Planning, organization and attention to detail; ability to learn correct EKG lead placement, ability to stay composed in a busy environment with time constraints, ability to communicate .
