Portfolio Management Associate, Infrastructure Finance, US Commercial Banking will play a crucial role in supporting end-to-end infrastructure finance by managing, analyzing and monitoring our sustainable infrastructure, renewables and project finance transactions with our Commercial Banking clients. This role focuses on Commercial Banking customers and transactions and will report to Commercial Banking management. This role will work closely together and collaborate with HSBC’s Infrastructure Finance team. This role will be co-located with, and will liaise with, the local Global Banking Infrastructure team.

As our Portfolio Management Associate you will:

  • Support Senior Management in proactively monitoring credit quality of project finance, renewables and sustainable infrastructure portfolio
  • Assess project level due diligence including relevant technical, environmental, legal and market studies
  • Build strategic and valued relationships with customers in the project finance, renewables and sustainable infrastructure sector, applying knowledge to provide value-add advice and assistance
  • Have a strong collaboration internally to develop best-in-class experience and outcomes for our teams and employees
  • Provide strong management and timely submission of financial reporting
  • Assist frontline US and Commercial Banking relationship managers and HSBC Infrastructure Finance deal teams with proper credit review and submissions to relevant risk stewards and stakeholders
  • Be able to analyze a credit request and conduct financial modelling
  • Adhere to HSBC policies, procedures, and control requirements and raise any concerns about actual or potential issues promptly, in line with reporting and escalation procedures
  • Ensure all actions take into account the likelihood of operational risk occurring, addressing areas of concern in conjunction with Risk and relevant colleagues and ensuring that actions resulting from internal/external audits and external regulators are correctly implemented in a timely fashion

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $110,000.00 and $150,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Technical understanding of infrastructure, sustainable infrastructure, renewables and project finance
  • Strong financial and credit analysis skills
  • Effective stakeholder and risk steward management skills
  • Strong teamwork skills promoting an environment of co-operation and trust, overcoming resistance where encountered
  • Excellent prioritizing, organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Familiarity with complex limits and portfolio management systems and other Bank financial reporting systems would be an asset
