The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.
The US Consumer Marketing (USCM) organization leads prospect acquisition and customer marketing for US Consumer Services (USCS), one of the largest growth engines within American Express. The Investment Services team within USCM is responsible for several key functions, including leadership of forecasting processes, delivery of performance reporting and insights, and operational management of USCS’ marketing budget.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Within Investment Services, the Manager of Optimized Investment Management is primarily responsible for driving investment efficiency across new account acquisition and customer marketing. The Manager will collaborate closely with Finance, channel owners and the marketing analytics team to analyze and assess investment inputs for unfunded investment ideas and the performance of campaigns in market, assessing spend, lend and account variables and marketing expense elements impacting return on investment.
The Manager will also be responsible for ideating and coordinating the delivery of capabilities and infrastructure that will improve Investment Optimization, with the aim of facilitating faster and better investment decisions for the business.
This critical work has a high degree of visibility to marketing leadership, and there will be regular opportunities to present insights relevant to Investment Optimization. As such, the Manager will enable transparency and optimal investment outcomes for the largest marketing budget in American Express.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ownership of investment measurement, in partnership with the Finance, channel and analytics teams
- Ownership of presentation and insights for investment measurement
- Ownership of analyzing the drivers of key performance indicators impacting ROI and revenue yield efficiency
- Collaboration on IO infrastructure improvement deployments
- Ad hoc analytical projects and the development of presentation materials, reports and excel models for marketing partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Highly motivated individual with excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Energetic, flexible and positive approach to tackling challenges
- Superior analytical skills – ability to analyze/understand large data sets, synthesize and draw out relevant insights
- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy – strong sense of responsibility and accountability
- Self-starter with an ability to navigate the organization and processes independently
- Project management skills – ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize accordingly
- Relationship building skills – enjoys working as part of a larger team and fostering relationships
- Team player with an ability to support projects outside of immediate scope
- Presentation skills – equally capable of creating presentation materials and presenting in front of peers and more senior leaders
- Aptitude with Excel – e.g. formulas, pivot tables, macros
- This role will be managing 3 direct reports, people leadership experience is preferred
- 3+ years of work experience in analyzing data and reporting insights preferred
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
