Physical Requirements

Must be able to work from ladders or lifts up to 15 feet or higher; must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds; must be able to work in small spaces for extended periods of time; must be able to distinguish wiring colors; must be able to traverse campus while carrying or moving equipment in a reasonable amount of time; must be able to stand for long periods of time; and must have the ability to work in a sedentary position utilizing computer, mouse, keyboard, and phone for portions of the day.



Shift

Monday-Friday (37.5 hours per week). Generally 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and with occasional overtime as needed. Will also be required to participate in an on-call rotation after hours and on holidays.



Job Summary

The ITS Electronic Tech Assistant is responsible for installing network cabling, activating and troubleshooting network equipment, and installing VOIP phones. This position is responsible for immediate resolution of network/data/voice incidents including on-call responsibilities. In addition, excellent customer service and communication skills are required.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Previous experience with voice and data installation and repair. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, other departments and divisions.
