POSITION SUMMARY:
The accounting team is looking to hire two interns on the corporate accounting and financial reporting teams. The accounting interns report to the manager and will interact with many of the groups comprising our CFO team, including financial planning and analysis, treasury, and actuarial. This is a great opportunity to learn about many parts of the organization. The intern will learn some of the basic accounting concepts and apply them in several meaningful projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This opportunity provides exposure to the day-to-day functions of an entry level accounting position, including participating in the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes and processing transactions within the accounts payable and cash subledgers. The Interns are accountable for providing timely and accurate accounting entries and to ensure the continual delivery of the highest quality services to National Life Group’s internal and external customers while maintaining top level confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards a degree in accounting
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Able to work independently within established timeframes
- Ability to think strategically and respond tactically in a dynamic environment
- Well organized and able to handle multiple priorities at one time
- Prefer rising Senior majoring in accounting

In addition, we expect professionalism, a proactive approach to the position, excellent organization skills, ability to manage multiple assignments, strong written and communication skills, and fluency in Microsoft Excel.
