Job Summary
KY NSF EPSCoR, through the UK Center for Applied Energy Research, is seeking a Communications and Project Assistant Intern to help us promote and enhance messaging about the CLIMBS project, a statewide, 5-year research and outreach project funded by the National Science Foundation that will help build climate resilience in Eastern Kentucky and Beyond. This collaborative project will unite 8 universities, dozens of faculty, and hundreds of students across Kentucky from multiple disciplines. - Help with event planning and hands-on assistance of events alongside the EOC team and new Project Coordinator
- (both virtually in person)
- Onsite Photography and journalism (potentially traveling to a research sites in Kentucky)
- Organizing the KY NSF EPSCoR E-Newsletter
- Help organize and create Canvas Virtual Learning modules for CLIMBS students
- Conduct virtual or in-person interviews and write articles with student researchers
- Updating the CLIMBS participant list
- Other organizational tasks as assigned in reference to reporting or awards
This position is set for Spring 2025, but we are looking for candidates who would be open to work Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Organizational skills, strong communication and people skills, writing, photography. Basic understanding of earth and atmospheric sciences is a plus but not required.
