Job Description

The Commercial Operations Manager will demonstrate leadership by enabling the Commercial team to profitably manage new and existing contractual risk in a constructive customer focused manner while ensuring full and correct compliance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA). Assisting in the development of proposal/agreement that can be easily executed by the company and enhance the customer's experience. This role has responsibility as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for managing the US federal
government's contract reviews, specifically the Veolia General Services Agreement, GSA.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • SME for US Federal government business reviews, manage the GSA price modifications, report US government monthly sales via GSA transaction tool and maintain records to support internal and external audits regarding customer relationship and transactions.
  • SME for bid compliance for federal, state, and municipal government customers and government contractors
  • Assist and train the NAM CMS Commercial team regarding the federal, state, and local government requirements.
  • Review and negotiate terms & conditions of sale as required in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Provide leadership & support as a primary contact to a team for sales related activities
  • Understand and effectively manage proposal content preparation, financial reviews, and documentation of Delegation of Authority, DoA
  • Assist with commercial approvals such as pricing and payment terms, etc. and document for auditing purposes.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base
  • Contribute to the regional/area team meetings by providing updates on relevant topics and trends. Providing training when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal network (Product Management, Product Applications, Product Operations, Pricing, Sales Support, AEs, CFS, etc.)

Required:
  • Effective communications skills including ability to resolve issues and drive improvement
  • Excellent organizational and relationship building skills
  • Strong leadership and people skills to guide the commercial team.
  • Troubleshooting and creative problem solving


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a sales or risk management position in a related industry

Preferred:
  • Federal Government contract knowledge, GSA, FARs, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in negotiating terms and conditions
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, and analytical.
  • Understanding of product offering, pricing, and ITO processes specific to Veolia NAM CMS
  • Team oriented, customer focused, collaborative, and a critical thinker
  • Experience with government online tools and apps
  • Understanding of internal processes and cross-functional relationships
