Shift
Tutoring sessions will take place at Presentation U: Speaking and Writing Center, located in The Hub of W.T. Young Library, during regular tutoring hours (Mon.-Thurs. 2pm-8pm). On average, peer tutors are scheduled for 8-12 hours of tutoring per week with shifts being 3-4 hrs in length.
Job Summary
Mandarin tutors will support students enrolled in CHI 100-400 level courses through scheduled, weekly 30-minutes, small group (1-2 students) tutoring sessions. Peer tutors will be responsible for preparing conversation discussion topics and questions each week in order to facilitate language practice.
In addition to attending regularly scheduled tutoring shifts, peer tutors will also:
- Attend all required training & professional development meetings
- In-person training at the beginning of term (6-10 hours)
- Monthly professional development meetings (1 hour)
- Participate in observations and semesterly Performance Evaluation process
- Abide by program manual including established policies and procedures
