Associate Instructor, Practical Nursing, Dickson
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Associate Instructor in Practical Nursing for the Dickson Campus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Tennessee.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an RN within the last five (5) years OR two (2) years of experience as an RN within the last five (5) years and 24 credit hours toward a higher degree in nursing.
- Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus.
- Must be willing and able to meet all requirements set by clinical sites to supervise students at the site. Clinical site requirements subject to change at the discretion of the site.
SKILLS
- Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and interact with students.
- Must show evidence of good character and mature attitude.
- Must be willing to remain current in the nursing profession and maintain active licensure.
- Must be able to adapt quickly to new technology.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.
GENERAL DUTIES: The Practical Nursing Associate Instructor is responsible for the following areas including, but not limited to: teaching and supervision of nursing students in on-campus classroom and off-campus clinical settings; evaluating and advising students; maintaining confidential, accurate and complete records on paper and electronically; completing reports as required in a timely manner; participating in the development of the program; participating in the recruitment of new students and placement of graduates; maintaining an active advisory committee; and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Healthcare Programs. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Class hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Clinical hours vary. Travel to other TCAT Dickson campuses and alternate clinical sites may be required. This is a fully on-site position with teaching conducted in person.
SALARY: $55,157-$66,188 per year ($28.29-$33.94 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology -- Dickson guidelines and directly related experience.
