Administrative Assistant Component:

  • Provide administrative oversight of Senior Director of Research’s Outlook Calendar
  • Provide scheduling for both Senior Director of Research and Research Department
  • Provide administrative support for Senior Director of Research
  • Maintain Research files and ensure files are complete
  • Ensure all certifications are up-to-date (CITI trainings, equipment, etc)
  • Take and prepare minutes for Research meetings and other meetings as necessary
  • Schedule patient research appointments into Aura and communicate with clinical staff regarding patient’s study schedule
  • Schedule outside appointments for research participants outside of Caron.
  • Order supplies

Research Assistant Component:

  • Collect data using a variety of methods.
  • Enter data on research databases, such as SPSS.
  • Review data for errors in entry.
  • Perform literature reviews.
  • Participate in report writing.
  • Respond to requests and provide information/data to internal parties.
  • Use judgment and be self-directed in performance of responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Light lifting and bending
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree required.
  • A minimum of at least one college level course in statistics.
  • Experience in mental health or addiction treatment or research.
  • Attention to detail in work assignments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize work.
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, SPSS software programs.
  • If in recovery, one year of continuous sobriety is preferred.

COMPETENCE AND MEASUREMENT:

  • Demonstrate ability to gain staff and patient confidence through satisfactory enrollment of participants in research studies.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail through a minimum of errors in data entry.
  • Demonstrate time-management abilities through timely completion of multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently through decision-making skills and independent completion of tasks in absence of Director of Research.
  • Demonstrate initiative in completion of tasks without prior requests and in approaching Director of Research with project ideas and suggestions.
